Mark: 39. Leaves or Fruit? (11:12–25)

It’s possible to have all the appearance of spiritual life without actually becoming more like Jesus.

In Mark 11, Jesus encounters a leafy fig tree with no fruit. Then he walks into a Temple overflowing with religious activity… and finds the same problem. Lots of leaves, no fruit.

So what kind of fruit is Jesus actually looking for in us?

This Sunday, we’ll wrestle with Jesus’ words in Mark 11:22–25 and three marks of a fruitful life: faith, prayer, and forgiveness.
