Mark: 38. Faith That Prays (11:22–25)

What do you do when you prayed… and the mountain didn’t move?

Jesus says, “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Those are powerful words - but they can also be difficult ones.

Because most of us have prayed prayers we genuinely believed God could answer. Ie. We prayed for healing, or a relationship to be restored, or a door to open, or for someone we love to come home.

But sometimes… The mountain is still there.

So what exactly is Jesus promising? Can we “have faith in God” and still not get the answer to our prayers we were expecting?

This Sunday, we’re continuing through the Gospel of Mark and wrestling with one of Jesus’ most challenging teachings on faith and prayer.
