Mark: 40. The Rejected Cornerstone (12:1–12)
About This Message
What happens when God's gifts become more important to us than God himself?
We love the lives we've been given, the people we love, the opportunities we pursue, and the blessings we enjoy. But somewhere along the way, it's possible to become so consumed with God's gifts that we forget the Giver.
In Mark 12:1-12, Jesus tells the Parable of the Tenants, confronting people who had been entrusted with caring for God's people but began acting as though the vineyard belonged to them.
Through this powerful story, we discover God's extraordinary patience, his commitment to justice, and his sacrificial love revealed through his Son. But we also encounter an uncomfortable truth about ourselves: We often want the Kingdom of God without the King.
Join us as we wrestle with what it means to move from ownership to stewardship, from control to surrender, and from simply enjoying God's gifts to cultivating a deeper relationship with the God who gives them.
